When it Comes to a Sparkly Mani, which OPI Holiday Polish Captures Your Fancy?

Smitten with jewel tones and sparkles, Beauty and the Budget spotted OPI's holiday 2011 line of sparkly polishes while getting a manicure the other day!

Inspired by Disney’s The Muppets (in theaters November 23), OPI’s holiday 2011 collection features 12 limited-edition shades inspired by the loveable gang, including Kermit, Miss Piggy, Fozzie, Beaker, and Gonzo. From shimmering neutral pink and taupes to glittery jewel-tones, these lacquers capture the joyfulness of the Muppets and provide the perfect touch to any holiday outfit. The polishes are available now at stores like ULTA, Trade Secret, Pure Beauty, and professional salons, and I certainly wanted to share the collection with you!

Although opting for a traditional red (because I was shooting my first ever web video! details soon...), I was dying try the sparkly polish. Maybe I'll treat myself soon to another manicure, and I just might get something sparkly!

A Nail Polish for Beginners

You know those perfect beauties that just seem to be so put together all of the time? Not only can they dress, but they are even self-proclaimed manicurists.

Well, that's not me. I like to think I'm pretty well put together most of the time, but up until a few months ago, I hardly ever painted my nails. First and foremost, I never thought I had the time. But secondly, I'm also not good at it. Highly credited to my impatience to do anything tedious, I never can seem to get the hang of an at-home manicure. And then there's the waiting to dry part...

I've read manicure how-tos and watched Youtube videos, but it never took. I either got nail polish on my fingers, or I resumed my daily activities too quickly smudged the polish, which I hate.

But upon a recent discovery on a Walgreen's beauty run, I found a revolutionary polish--Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Fast Dry Nail Color ($4.99 at Walgreens). Granted, it might not be the polish that's so fantastic, but the actual polish brush itself. The square shaped brush makes painting your nails so easy, and because it's quick dry, you can go on with your life minutes after applying. I typically use two coats when painting my nails, but with the Sally Hansen Insta-Dri polish, one coat works just fine because the polish isn't watered down. The polish comes in varying colors, but the latest craze in fashion world (and at the offices of StyledOn) is a deep green polish, like Sally Hansen's Insta-Dri Nail Color in Jumpin' Jade.
