5 Ways to Wear: Pastel Shades for Summer

Lady-like pastels are so on trend right now for summer, and with proper styling, I'm convinced they can work for everyone! How should you style pastels? Pick your favorite from the choices above, and see the corresponding how-to below!

  1. Ultra bold. If you want to make a serious statement, pair your pastel shades with another hot color trend right now--neon! I love the mix of this baby blue top with the neon pink skirt.
  2. Ladylike. This color combination of soft mint green and light pink is absolutely fabulous. Bonus: This look can work for so many different occasions, i.e. first date, work, movies, church, etc.
  3. Colorblock. Do you love this trend as much as I do? Colorblock your pastels for a sweet take on a bold trend. I love this pairing of light blue with light purple.
  4. Edgy. A motorcycle jacket toughens up any look, even when it's paired against a buttery pastel yellow. This look is so perfect right now, especially for those who are still experiencing slighlty cold weather but want to embrace the warmth of summer with bright colors.
  5. B's pick-Effortlessly cool. Here's my favorite of all, an effortlessly cool way to wear pastels. I love the slouchy pastel blue tee paired with the brown pants so much, that I even recreated the look on my last shopping trip! I added a bit of arm candy and a sweet necklace, too!

Jewelry Box: Beanies and Berets

A model displays a creation of Dsquared2 Fall/Winter 2009-2010 ready-to-wear collection on March 2, 2009 during the Women's fashion week in Milan. AFP...

The winter must-have this year is a hat!

Beanies and berets are the hottest styles this year to cover up your bad hair day, keep your head cozy, or add that boho-chic extra to your ensemble.

They've made a big debut in the fall/winter 2009-2010 runways (such as in DSquared2's collection, right), as well as in the wardrobes of the most fashionable celebrities.

Fashionistas like Rihanna, Lindsay Lohan, Ashlee Simpson, and Beyonce have been spotted wearing these hat styles at parties, events, and with their casual Saturday attire.

It's a completely versatile accessory, and they aren't limited specifically to cold-weather climates anymore.

The Trend: Traveling in Style (on a Budget)

How does a Beauty on a Budget afford to stay at the J.W. Marriot located in one of the wealthiest areas of Atlanta?

Because the Beauty on a Budget took the train, as opposed to spending a lot on a plane ticket.

There were about twenty or more girls traveling with me to Atlanta, and we are all college students on a budget.

We're only six hours away from Atlanta, but we didn't want to take separate cars and most of us didn't want to spend a lot of money on a plane ticket.

So we decided for a more frugal means of transportation--the train! By taking the train, we were able to afford to stay in one of the nicest hotels in Atlanta.

It may seem like an outdated form of transportation, but it worked for us, and the ride wasn't bad at all! In fact, we had more room on the train than in an airplane!

It allowed us to splurge more on clothes and entertainment, too, and isn't that what's most important?

Closet Space: What's in my Suitcase?

The B&B Lookbook: Atlanta

Atlanta is one of the top fashion centers in the United States, and I'll be here all weekend!

As I arrived yesterday I was pleased to see fashionistas walking along the streets of downtown.

The fashion here is fabulous, the weather is great, there's an H&M nearby, my good friend "B" is also in town, and the martini bars are near. What more could a girl ask for?

Today I'm at Americasmart, a shopping center for retail buyers and wholesalers.

My head is spinning from all of the fabulous clothes! I'm not sure if I'll have time to visit every showroom, but I do plan on trying!

While I plan to feature my purchases next week, today I'd like to show you what I packed for my trip to Atlanta. Closet Space: What's in my Suitcase? features a business outfit, a Saturday shopping outfit, and a nightlife outfit.

Lingerie and Lace under $25

How to Wear: Lingerie and Lace

A model presents a creation by US designer Marc Jacobs for Louis Vuitton during the autumn/winter 2009 ready-to-wear collection show in Paris, on March...

Lace is the fabric of choice this season, and sexy and sophisticated fashionistas are glad!

A lot of emphasis was placed on sheer fabrics this year, with lace being the fabric of choice. I love how it was sensibly mixed into Louis Vuitton's collection (right).

If you're thinking tight and scandolous lace, think again. The latest take on this fabric is for it to be slightly loose and draped.

Although many designers sent their models strutting down the runway in lace with nothing underneath, I'm hear to help those more practical fashionistas on how to pair their lace and lingerie.
