One Simple Thing You Can Do To Freshen Up Your Look

Lipstick is an easy choice, but I see so many women neglect it every day. Even I'm guilty of skipping out on the lip color and opting for chapstick, especially during the winter. But honestly, lip color is the easiest and most inexpensive way to freshen your look, which is why during a down economy women tend to buy more lipstick than clothing.

How can you use lipstick to freshen your look? Try different hues of fall's "it" color, oxblood. It's very vamp, along the lines of the dark and bitten look, but it's also glamorous.

Case in point: you're tired and you've just rolled into work wearing jeans and an oversized black tee. Becuase you overslept you have to throw your hair up into a topknot. If you add Milani Lipstick in Red Velvet ($4.49 at drugstore.com) to that equation and you just made yourself glam in an instant! Plus, you'll even appear to be more awake. Wearing lipstick will give the illusion that you spent time getting ready that morning, even if you only spent ten minutes.

Below are some amazing oxblood hues for the season. Click on items for more information.

Ha, I just decided today that I needed to shake up my makeup a bit, and wore a dark red/brown lipcolor (Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet in L'Exquise which is sort of oxblood-ish?), patted on to be sort of softer.

I do really love dark red/browns like this, even though I tend to wear more pinky-gold-beige neutrals most of the time.
