Sometimes all it takes are fabulous accessories to reveal your personality, and every new season gives us all the perfect excuse to indulge in some new extras compliment our attire. If you're looking to make an investment purchase this fall on a designer gem, this isn't the article for you. However, if you're looking for a little inexpensive something to revive to your accessory collection, read on. I'm taking four of this season's hottest accessory trends, and I'll even tell you where you can find these must-have items for under $50.
THE WORKING GIRL BAG
Whether you want a portfolio clutch or a box bag, a working girl bag is perfect for work or play. It really adds an extra flair to your 9 to 5 suiting, but it can also add a hint of structure to your casual fall enesembles. (Forever 21 Studded Doctor's Bag $39.80)
THE CHAIN GANG
Chain accessories are in in a big way, and they're perfect for accenting your fabulously rocker-chic attire. If you're not into big chains, a smaller dainty chain is a classic staple that will work for you time and time again. Chain Gang Strands ($22.00 at BaubleBar).
A GOOD POINT
Pointed toe pumps reigned supreme on the catwalk for Fall 2012 at shows from Anna Sui to DSquared to Jil Sander. A classic pointed toe pump makes your 9 to 5 workwear sleek and chic, but I suggest something that makes a statement, like this fire engine red Patent Leather Court Shoe ($39.95 at Zara.com). It stays true to the classic heel silhouette, but the color will add a unique pop to your ensemble.
MAKE A STATEMENT
Statement making jewelry will probably be in until the economy picks up again. Why? Because jewelry is the easiest way to revamp your wardrobe. During a down economy, when most people can't afford to buy the latest designer duds, investing in a great piece of jewelry can instantly perk up an outfit. Right now, statement necklaces can range from the subtle to the extreme, but my favorite silhouette is the faux collar. Try this amazing piece for $29.95 at H&M.
