The Look for Less: Get This Mad Men Star's Style

Mad Men's Kiernan Shipka may only be a tween, but she holds her own against Hollywood's best dressed ladies. The graphic print top, bold pleated skirt, and ankle strap heels are totally age appropriate for any woman. Plus, it can be worn to almost every ocassion!

I chose to make the look a bit more summery and fun with a crop top, which pairs perfectly with the high waisted green skirt. Add a bold pop of color with a bright pink lipstick and you'll be ready for anything!

How to Make Your Makeup Last

How can your makeup have staying power when it's upwards of 90 degrees outside? Try these beauty products that will definitely help you beat the heat!

Switch to lighter makeup. Use to a tinted moisturizer if you feel like your regular foundation is making your face look cakey. Some people are turned off by the tinted moisturizers because they provide very minimal coverage. If you're not a big fan of going too bare, you can always set it with powder to conceal any blemishes. I typically use Neutrogena Healthy Skin Enhancer ($10.99 by Neutrogena at Ulta) during the summer.

Wear translucent powder. As you're working on that tan, you might find your normal powder is now too light! Translucent powder will keep your face looking fresh and airy without conflicting with your skin tone. Plus, it's a great product for setting your makeup, and you can use it all year. Here's a super affordable option to try, Nyx Cosmetics Studio Finishing Powder Translucent Finish ($9.99 by NYX at Ulta).

Try moisturizing lip stains. Lip stain has great staying power, but can also dry out your pout. The obvious choice, a moisturizing lip stain is the best of both worlds and it's a much lighter option than lipstick. I love Revlon's Just Bitten Kissable Lip Balm Stain Lovesick ($8.99 by Revlon at Walgreens).

Opt for a stain blush. Admittedly, my blush is one of the first things to wear off on my face! I don't know if I'm touching my cheeks to much or what, but the blush I use (and it's MAC, so supposedly it's pretty good), always wears off by lunch. A stain blush (or my favorite option--lipstick) has great staying power! My trick to applying a stain blush without it appearing too bold? Apply it right after your foundation and then layer on powder to make it more subtle. I suggest Tarte Cheek Stain ($30.00 by Tarte at Ulta), but another quick option is to just use your own lipstick.

Blot! If your shiny and sweaty, don't conceal it with more makeup. Try blotting papers or tissue instead, which will absorb the oil without ruining your makeup. Just lightly pat the oily areas of your face to remove all that extra shine. Try NYX Matte Blotting Paper ($4.00 by NYX at Urban Outfitters).

The Beach Guide: Swimwear with Tummy Control!

If your body isn't quite ready for your beach debut, don't be afraid of the sun! Just find the right swimsuit...

For those who want to cover up a little tummy bulge, shop for swimwear with better control in the midriff. High waisted bikini bottoms are a great option if you're comfortable showing the extra skin, and they give a fashionable nod towards the retro trend. Of course, you can always go for the tried and true one piece, and there are options out there now that are just as sexy as a bikini!

Shop for swimsuits with extra threading or support around the middle. Ruching, a structured front panel, and even ruffles are all great ways to conceal a little extra skin.

What kind of style is your go-to swimsuit? Let me know in the comments below!
